Nearly 3 Million Jobs Gained Under Bush

Thanks to a lead from e-Claire, a link to an analysis of the U.S Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics.

December 2000: 135,836,000 jobs.

May 2004: 138,772,000 jobs.

Net gain in jobs since Bush became President: 2,886,000 jobs.

I bet you think there have been 3 million jobs lost, don’t you? That’s the last number I heard on the news, too. It was down that low at one time, but it’s since bounced back.

During Bush’s first term, were jobs actually jost or gained? What are the final numbedrs?

Final numbers are not in, but it appears jobs were added under Bush, even counting 9/11.
