V.P. Candidate Edwards

Posted on July 6, 2004. Filed under: Politics | Tags: , |

Kerry finally settled on John Edwards for a running mate:

“He has shown courage and conviction as a champion for middle class Americans and those struggling to reach the middle class,” Kerry said of Edwards, a first-term senator and millionaire trial lawyer.

I’m middle class, and I know of no millionaire trial lawyers that are my champion.

Expect Kerry to get a boost in the polls this week, which means everybody will be taking them and trumpeting them with phrases like, “KERRY SURGES AHEAD!” I would expect that lead to last until after the Olympics when the Republican Convention kicks off.

Then the real race begins.

I was all excited when I heard Kerry had chosen John Edwards for a running mate. Then I found out it was the senator, not the guy who talks to dead people.

It’s not?

I thought that’s how he was able to contact Kerry.
