Fruit for Breakfast

I asked a co-worker this morning how things were going. That’s a meaningless phrase, now that I think about it. What things? Where are they going?

His answer: things were just peachy. And I realized that didn’t answer the question. Peachy isn’t a destination. “Where are you going? Peachy?”

I asked him if there were any other fruit that might describe his day. Kiwi? Watermellon? Strawberry? He wasn’t aware of any other fruits. He was walking very fast.

I suggested peachy was better than his day going bananas, and I hope his day didn’t get all figged up. I think he was trotting now.

Conversations with me before coffee hurt everybody involved.

Hey…it beats sour grapes and rotten apples!
Now orange you glad I chimed in?

I thought you’d be grapefruitful for my post, so don’t give me a raison to punish you.

You prune better cut it out.

Its uncanney how you pick on fresh fruit.

..and I don’t want to hear anyone wine through the grapevine.

p.s. If you are what you eat, I’m staying away from the nuts!
