Kerry says Iraq and US Working Well Together

Posted on September 24, 2004. Filed under: Iraq War, Politics | Tags: , , , , |

Well, actually what John Kerry said was that interim Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi is helping President Bush put a “best face” on Iraq. Same thing. :P

Kerry basically complained about a lot; reading over the speech snapshots, I concluded Kerry is a) mad that George Bush is optimistic, and b) Optimism is a mistake, and Bush should admit it.

Iraqi Minister Allawi agrees with Bush’s optimism. Allawi points to a list of successes that the media isn’t covering: 15 of 18 Iraqi provinces are ready to vote today, the Sunni town of Samarra uprising is over and now controlled by Iraqi forces, the Shiite city of Najaf is calm and fighting is over.

Kerry’s biggest complaint this week is that Bush is not working well with allies in Iraq. I think instead Bush is working well with Iraq and ensuring they become a strong ally.

News on the radio talk about how Allawi is upset with western media for only reporting on the fight. There is tons of good things happening that should be reported on.

Someone should tell him that the media will not report good things about a subject they are against.

It is somewhat telling that to garne votes, Kerry must a.) root for the bad guys to create real trouble, or b.) have the press manufacture trouble. “The only thing we have to offer is FEAR iteselt” – (aplogies to FDR).
