Generosity Index

Apparently some grumpy people upset about the election are forwarding an IQ Chart that shows that intelligent states voted for Kerry, dumb states voted for Bush. It’s a hoax, of course.

On the other hand, Michelle Malkin has pulled data from the Generosity Index and cross referenced it to the 2004 election results.

We are in good company

That’s company I’m happy to be in.

Generosity! I’m 19! Boooyaaaa!

From Democratic Underground where all the liberals hang out:

Got a call from the March of Dimes today. I listened to the woman’s prepared text, and said, “I’m sorry, we will no longer be donating, please take us off your list.” She asked why, and I said, “Due to the election results, we have decided not to enable the Bush Administration by supporting charitable organizations who are filling the vaccuum [sic] caused by his mishandling of the country. It’s all up to President Bush now.”

She sounded surprised.

We will say this to all of the organizations we donated to last year, when they come a’ callin’ this month and next.

For the next four years, we help our own, and that is it. We contribute to political causes, and that is it.

Amazing that because Bush won, liberals are not interested in contributing to fighting birth defects. I’m lost how those two events are related.

Duh- they’re saving up to buy citizenship in another country.

Anonymous was me, btw.

Doh. I meant to blog that link you sent me.

People trying to leave this country because they don’t care for Christians are finding out it’s hard to move to another country. I’ll help them pack, though, if they wish. :)

Ah, it’s about time for the annual release. If past years are any judge, people will again take up this red state-blue state split, and not realize how badly flawed the Generosity Index is! It extrapolates from the few who itemize charitable deductions to entire states, and because it’s based on comparisons of rank data, it’s easier for a poor state to do well than a rich state. (People in the richest state could give everything they have away, everything, and not have a higher rank in giving than in earning – - and those in the poorest state could donate nothing, and they would have the same rank in the Generosity Index.)
