Investing in Turbulent Times

Posted by Michael on April 26th, 2005 filed in Finances

I went to a free seminar at lunch today, called “Investing in Turbulent Times.” This is the financial advice I gleaned:

  • Don’t invest in stuff that goes down in value.
  • Try to invest in stuff that goes up instead.
  • You should have started investing 20 years ago.
  • We’re professionals, give your money to us and we’ll do it for you.

I can say for certainty, though, that the seminar was not a waste of time. I got some free chocolate chip cookies out of it. :)

I’ve gleaned other financial advisers. The main thing is you need money to invest in the first place. I strike out on that one immediately.

That would be the “start 20 years ago” part, I think. :P
