I forgot where I found this link, but it’s spreading quickly. The United Nations held a Palestinian Appreciation Day and gave thanks for suicide bombers. On the back wall behind Kofi Anna is a map of the Middle East with Israel conspicuously missing.
I didn’t find it at Wizbang, though Jay Tea has a great article about the devoted hatred the Muslims have for Israel. I wasn’t aware that Jerusalem isn’t mentioned in the Quran, but they still lay claim to the Temple Mount as the third holiest site of Islam.
One would think that Israel could turn to the United Nations for assistance in this matter. But the UN has already made its position clear, on countless occasions. In fact, last November 29, the UN held its “Day Of Solidarity With The Palestinian People.” At that event, they held a moment of silence for “all those who have given their lives for the cause of the Palestinian People,” including terrorists, murderers, and suicide bombers. UNICEF sponsors a summer camp named after Wafa Idris, the first female suicide bomber. And they even featured a poster that, literally, showed Israel wiped off the map.
I also didn’t get it from Brutally Honest, who writes:
A minute of silence for those who’ve killed women and children on buses, hotel lobbies, cafeterias, food markets and malls for the cause of the Palestinian people.
Incredible.
And leftists think John Bolton is the problem at the U.N.
I sent this to Sean (frequent commenter, longtime friend, refuses to guest blog), and he replied with all this good commentary:
Well, did you expect any different -?
Consult your playbook:
Ezechiel Chap. 39:
39:8. Behold it cometh, and it is done, saith the Lord God: this is the day whereof I have spoken.
39:9. And the inhabitants shall go forth of the cities of Israel, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, the shields, and the spears, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves and the pikes: and they shall burn them with fire seven years.
39:10. And they shall not bring wood out of the countries, nor cut down out of the forests: for they shall burn the weapons with fire, and shall make a prey of them to whom they had been a prey, and they shall rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord God.I’m bettin’ on Israel. If I were Iran, I’d be looking to the skies. Every time these guys take it upon themselves to push Israel into the sea, they get whipped. God be praised.
After I asked if I could blog on his behalf, Sean followed up with this. Yeah, I know he had some suggestions for me to follow up on, but lunch is over and I’ve got to get back to work:
Sure, but you may want to quote more in Ezechiel (aka Ezekiel to Protestants?) before my selected lines – , and perhaps compare it to the Israeli war of independence -1948 (five Arab armies), The Suez War 1956 (Egypt), The Six Day War – 1967 (three Arab armies), The 1968 War of Attrition (Egypt), Yom Kippur War 1973, (two Arab Armies), Lebanon Invasion by Israel 1978, 1990 Gulf War (wherein Iraq threw missiles at Israel).
They have been there, done that and won every time. You got to wonder at the thinking of the Arab states on this. Perhaps it is a ploy to keep the people riled up at something other than their totalitarian regimes. A pox on their house. I am developing no pity on the enemies of Israel.
Here’s a great picture –
