Great weekend. “Babysat” my brother-in-law Saturday morning and took him out for “ice cream” later. (Euphemisms for “golf” and “a pitcher of Shiner Bock”). Sunday took Mom out for brunch and visited with my sister & niece & step-father. My son was nowhere around this time – he was playing D&D Friday, then I left to play golf early Saturday. By the time I got hom, he had to leave for “after-prom” which was a lock-in at Julian’s. He didn’t get home until 6am and crashed, then I got up and went to brunch. He woke up late, then went out for the afternoon. It was like he was already in college.
I gotta fix my “Faith” page on my new web page. I was insensitive and didn’t realize it, now I gotta fix it. Eventually I’ll learn to avoid generalities.
I learned a lot yesterday about web searches. I have a search button that isn’t connected to anything; I found I could put a co-branded Google button to search just my site, but only if Google knows who your site is. You can submit your link manually, but they don’t guarrantee they’ll ever add you. There are entire organizations devoted to the art of getting your site added to Yahoo and Google.
I’m not going to go through all the work – I’m not going to pay Yahoo $300 to list me. I snuck a link on the Treasure Hunters site I manage. In teeny weeny font at the bottom is a link to Chasing the Wind. Eventually Google’s spiders will crawl that page again to refresh it and pickup my link.
