Chasing the Wind

News. Faith. Nonsense.

Anti-Kerry Vietnam Veterans Hold Strong

It’s apparent the liberal media does *not* want to cover the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. It makes John Kerry look bad.

They *do* however want to carry a news article that one of the Swift Boat Vets wants to retract his story. It was front page everywhere today, but it originated at the Boston Globe in an article by Michael Kranish.

Did Lieutenant Commander George Elliott retract his criticism? George Elliott says no, and files a signed and notarized affidavit reaffirming his criticism today.

“Captain George Elliott describes an article appearing in today’s edition of the Boston Globe by Mike Kranish as extremely inaccurate and highly misstating his actual views. He reaffirms his statement in the current advertisement paid for by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, Captain Elliott reaffirms his affidavit in support of that advertisement, and he reaffirms his request that the ad be played. [See both affidavits below.]

“Additional documentation will follow. The article by Mr. Kranish is particularly surprising given page 102 of Mr. Kranish’s own book quoting John Kerry as acknowledging that he killed a single, wounded, fleeing Viet Cong soldier whom he was afraid would turn around.

So the liberal media made a big deal of the veteran changing his mind, but it appears that was all false – the veteran stands by his original story, says the reporter lied, says the reporter should know that because the reporter wrote a book with the same story of John Kerry shooting a wounded, fleeing Viet Cong soldier in the back. See if you can find the liberal media’s coverage of *that* story anywhere.

Why should I care? About most veterans, I wouldn’t. If I met a veteran with a Silver Star, I might ask him to tell me his story if he doesn’t mind, but I’m certainly not going to question the validity of the award. He was there serving our country, he’s a hero.

But Kerry claims his decorated war service qualifies him to be Commander-in-Chief of the United States of American. OK, *now* I care because he wants to responsible for protecting my country. The other swift boat veterans are overwhelmingly saying that John Kerry punched his 3 Purple Heart tickets under questionable circumstances. He was in Vietnam for only 4 months, yet received a Bronze Star for heroic achievement, a Silver Star for gallantry with “marked distinction, and three Purple Hearts. He sounds like Superman; you’d think the other veterans he served with would be impressed with John Kerry. But they are not impressed – in fact, they are signing affidavits saying Kerry’s record is phony.

About Me

Michael, a sinner saved by grace, sharing what the good Lord has shared with me.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.

Got questions? I’m not surprised. If you have any questions about Chasing the Wind, you can email me at chasingthewind@outlook.com.
