I'm Not Funny This Monday Morning

Really. I’ll show you….. wait for it…. wait…. see? No punch line.

Actually, I’m a bit woozy today. Trouble falling asleep, weird, bizarre dreams I can’t remember, except for the doorbell at 4:30am. Yes, I heard a doorbell. Would you answer it?

I was pretty sure I dreamed the doorbell or Patch would have been anxiously waiting to greet the pizza man, but instead Patch just sort of lazily opened one eye. He’s in the corner, belly to the air, legs spread far apart, and way too comfortable to greet the 4:30am pizza man.

Who of course wasn’t there, I dreamed it. Back to sleep, and the 6 o’clock alarm went off way too early. I wouldn’t mind getting up at 6:00am if it just didn’t come so early in the morning.

Maybe over lunch I’ll be ready to express my views, but I have a busy morning ahead that included 2 large cups of coffee.

    6 AM is early – – that’s why getting up between 4:30 and 5 really sucks.

    Gadzook. I have to be at work at 7:15am. Only crazy people go to work at 6am.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.
