"Passion" Murderer Pleads Guilty After All

Daniel Leach entered a plea of guilty today of murdering his girlfriend in January.

After watching the crucifixion of Jesus Christ in the movie “The Passion of Christ,” Daniel called police and confessed to killing his girlfriend Ashley Wilson. The case had already been closed; her death had been ruled a suicide.

The crucifixion of Jesus moves all Christians; understanding why Christ died is the core of Christianity. Christ, free of sin, underwent the torture of crucifixion as punishment for our sins, and he bore the punishment without complaint. A Christian cannot live his life without sin, but he is forgiven for sin if he just asks and repents.

Daniel apparently understood that when he confessed back in March; his lawyer convinced Daniel to plead not guilty in May. This morning, Daniel reversed that plea. There was no plea bargain; Daniel will accept whatever punishment the judge decides.

Daniel’s confession is the right thing to do. May God have mercy on his soul.
