When you bring a trial lawyer on board as your vice presidential candidate, what’s the best way to stifle free speech?
THAT’S RIGHT!!! SUE THE HECK OUT OF THEM!!!
FORT MYERS, Fla. (Reuters) – Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry asked the Federal Election Commission on Friday to force Republican critics to withdraw ads challenging his military service, and accused the Bush campaign of illegally helping coordinate the attacks.
The most interesting thing to me is not the stifling of free speech, not the lawsuit, not even the hypocracy of Kerry calling for Bush to condemn the Swift Vets at the same time declining to condemn the MoveOn.org and F9/11 media… but this next week all those leftist voices condemning Bush for enforcing FCC decency laws will be saying, “Yeah, but *this* restriction of free speech is good because, um… because, well, we want Kerry to win.”
Wait for it. Should be here by tomorrow.
Update: Apparently he’s also trying to keep their book, “Unfit for Command,” from being published. Pardon My English has a excellent recap of Kerry’s efforts.
