October Surprise

The “October Surprise” by the media about missing explosives didn’t work this year. Why? Obvious: it wasn’t person. Now if CBS could come up with documents that say Bush personally took the explosives, that might stick a little.

Instead, it comes across as criticizing the troops, calling them incompetent. They are not; our troops are over there serving our country and keeping us safe. Not a bad word against them, y’hear?

The Wizbang poll above shows the current projections. Interesting numbers; Al Gore took New Jersey by 16 points, but now it’s a dead heat. And Florida? Bush is up by 8 points. If Bush wins Florida, Kerry must win Ohio, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, New Jersey, Wisconson, Michigan, and New Hampshire. In other words all of the other swing states.

Me, I’ve already voted. Bet you can’t guess who I voted for.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.
