Chasing the Wind

News. Faith. Nonsense.

36 Rinos

36 Rinos (Republicans in Name Only) voted in the Texas House not to even discuss the appraisal cap. Killed it. People that signed on to a party platform that they were for lower taxes.

I hear on the news today that these Republicans are nervous; killing this bill did not sit well with conservative voters. Of the 36 Republicans, 9 of them now have opponents that have announced they will run for these seats and make this vote their campaign issue.

If your representative a Rino? Here’s the full list of the Republicans that voted for even higher property taxes:

Ray Allen (Grand Prairie – DFW)
Roy Blake (Nacogdoches)
Dan Branch (Dallas)
Carter Casteel (New Braunfels)
Warren Chisolm (Pampa – Amarillo)
Byron Cook (Corsicana)
Myra Crownover (Denton – DFW)
Dianne Delisi (Temple)
Mary Denny (Denton – DFW)
Joe Driver (Garland – DFW)
Charlie Geren (Ft. Worth)
Tony Goolsby (Dallas)
Bob Griggs (Ft. Worth)
Pat Haggerty (El Paso)
Rick Hardcastle (Vernon)
Linda Harper-Brown (Irving – DFW)
Will Harnett (Dallas)
Fred Hill (Richardson – DFW)
Bob Hunter (Abilene)
Delwin Jones (Lubbock)
Terry Keel (Austin)
Edmund Kuempel (Seguin)
Jodi Laubenberg (Parker – DFW)
Jerry Madden (Dallas)
Brian McCall (Plano – DFW)
Tommy Merritt (Longview)
Geanie Morrison (Victoria)
Anna Mowery (Ft. Worth)
Rob Orr (Burleson)
Elvira Reyna (Mesquite – DFW)
Todd Smith (Euless – DFW)
John Smithee (Amarillo)
Burt Solomons (Dallas)
David Swinford (Dumas)
Vicki Truitt (Keller – DFW)
Buddy West (Midland)

None from Houston, of course. That would have been political suicide. Of this den of vipers, Fred Hill is the snake that must get a visit from the voter’s hoes.

About Me

Michael, a sinner saved by grace, sharing what the good Lord has shared with me.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.

Got questions? I’m not surprised. If you have any questions about Chasing the Wind, you can email me at chasingthewind@outlook.com.
