Perfect Engagement

When I asked Diane to marry me, I tried to make it as romantic as possible. Outdoors, in a gazebo, azaleas blooming, down on one knee…

It was almost perfect. I forgot the tortoise.

Supermodel Claudia Schiffer realised she had found true love with husband MatthewVaughan when she gratefully accepted a tortoise instead of an engagement ring on the night he proposed.

The statuesque beauty was so thrilled Vaughn wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, she didn’t care about the eccentricity behind the strange bestowal.

Schiffer, who has two children with the British film-maker, instantaneously knew Vaughn was the man for her when they met at a dinner party.

She says, “He completely swept me off my feet, we are so similar in so many ways.

“It really was love at first sight. I have the right man, I’m going to have kids right away, let’s not waste time.”

    If it includes a tortoise, maybe.

    Actually, I don’t believe in love at first sight. I think most of the time that’s invoked it’s not love, it’s just excitement, the tingles, lust, or whatever. True love is an action, not just a feeling.

    See, it isn’t always about the money. It is most of the time and it probably was the first time Claudia Schiffer got engaged, but she came around.

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.
