Chasing the Wind

News. Faith. Nonsense.

God is in the Big Things, God is in the Small Things

God spoke the universe into existence. Everything is made for His glory, including us.

Something interesting a Christian friend shared with me this week. At the far edges of the universe, about as far as we can see, is the Whirlpool Galaxy (M51). It’s 23 million light years away. Here’s a photo from the Hubble telescope:
God is in the Big Things

One of the tiniest, wee things we can see is laminin, a structure of polypeptide chains that are an integral part of holding nearly all animal tissue together. Here’s what it looks like:
God is in the Small Things

A visual reminder that Jesus gave His life for us, and no matter where we go, there He is.

  3. I am thrilled to see this. Anyone who thinks that we evolved spontaneously and from a “soup” by random chance is insane and in denial of the truth of God’s Holy Word. Thanks for “standing in the gap.”

  5. I seen Giglio’s video on Saturday at a friend’s house. I’m still in awe. We showed it last night at our Celebrate Recovery meeting. God has taken on a newer meaning to the words “Higher Power”. HOLY HOLY HOLY IS THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY. WHO WAS AND IS AND IS TO COME. AMEN.

  11. It’s interesting that we think we can impress God with our works, yet the only two things Jesus marvelled at were faith and unbelief (Matthew 8:10
Mark 6:5-7). God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34) and does not respond to men because of their personal greatness, but He does respond to faith. Faith that God has given to everyone – (Romans 12:3) – and that everyone can believe in Him through his creation, Romans 1:19-21: Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”
So once people reject the God who created them, there is a darkness that descends upon them and they are lost in that darkness.

  14. God is INDESCRIBABLE as well as all HIS CREATIONS. I first saw the WHIRLPOOL GALAXY and LAMININ yesterday at our Sunday Fellowship. Instead of the usual preaching of our beloved Pastor, he had us watched this video of an American young preacher from ATLANTA, GEORGIA. I guess it was done after the INDESCRIBABLE TOUR they had. His topic was GOD’s bigness and indescribableness that was shown in HIS creations. I did not know who the speaker was, but I know that Louie is his first name. I just wanna thank you guys. God is indeed alive and moving. Your existence is enough proof. ALL GLORY BELONGS TO HIM!

  15. That is truly amazing. When I saw that today, it blew my mind. I looked in to the sky, trying to see how small I am. I don’t know why I did this, but it sure reminded me how big the God I’m worshipping is!

  18. This is an amazing confirmation that God is at the centre of our lives to hold all things together by His mighty power, both in the universe and in our bodies. It is just a couple of days after Darwin Day, the 200th Anniversary of his birth. In UK many try to say that Darwin’s discoveries dismiss the need for God as our Creator, but not only is He our Creator but He also SUSTAINS the world and our lives by His amazing Word. Colossians 1v15-20 explain some of this.
I will use these visuals in my own teaching tomorrow in our church 5mins North of London Gatwick Airport in Horley. Be blessed by our Great and Awesome God.

  21. Wow-it is not by incidence that God created us.From conception to natural death HE is with us–HE put HIS stamp on us from the beginning and continues to do so in our daily ordinary lives. We have HIS “STAMP” or SEAL of love ALWAYS.
    Laminin is a GOD INCIDENCE.

My husband, son, and I are going to make copies of the video and walk through our town leaving them on every door step praying God touches all who receive it. Thank you Lord!

  26. I am a Christian. And love God with all my heart. But don’t get too wrapped up in things like this. The cross most western Christians think of is not necessarily what the real cross looked like. History shows us crosses were more the shape of a capital T.
It’s very cool that laminin has a cross shape, and the M51 sort of has one (though I think it looks more like an x).
Remember, the cross is where he died. Don’t hold to dear to the cross, but rather to the RISEN CHRIST!! Salvation comes through he who lives.

About Me

Michael, a sinner saved by grace, sharing what the good Lord has shared with me.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.

Got questions? I’m not surprised. If you have any questions about Chasing the Wind, you can email me at chasingthewind@outlook.com.
