The Texas legislature is considering legislation to apologize for slavery.
AUSTIN — Two Houston lawmakers are leading an effort to build consensus for a formal apology and acknowledgment of slavery in Texas history, as part of a movement among Southern states considering official expressions of regret.
I want to make it clear that I personally apologize for any slaves that I have owned. If you were ever a slave of mine, write me and I will personally buy you 40 acres and a mule.
