God’s mysteries of who he blesses and who he allows trials escape me.
The Apostle Paul was beheaded. Steven was stoned. Certainly faithful service alone doesn’t solicit blessings.
I’m a sinner saved by grace with nothing to offer, yet in many ways, God has blessed me. Too numerous to mention.
My friend and brother Trey seems to collect every challenge under the sun, and I can vouch he is a good husband to his wife, a good father to his children, and an encouraging and evangelical heart. I have no idea how many times he’s been in the hospital for various medical emergencies – I only know of the ones on his head and his kidneys – yet he is always a shining light on a hill.
God blessed him this month; he became eligible for and received a kidney transplant this month. Yesterday I heard from his family that the surgery went well.
And it was expensive. In all the years I’ve known him, Trey has never asked for help, but he’s asking now. If you can find it in your heart to share the material blessings God has shared with you, I hope you will be moved to share some of your abundance with Trey on his GoFundMe site here:
