News. Faith. Nonsense.

John Kerry Refuses to Cross Picket Line

Kerry says he won’t cross picket lines:

BOSTON — Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (search) on Sunday canceled an appearance at the U.S. Conference of Mayors (search) rather than cross a promised police union picket line at the event.

I wondered how Kerry was going to finagle delaying accepting the Democratic National Convention nomination. Remember last month when they were tossing the idea that Kerry might not accept the nomination at the convention in order to delay accepting federal funds? Once he accepts the nomination, he can’t spend campaign funds and he’s limited to $75 million till the election. That gives Bush an advantage since their convention isn’t for 2 more months and they can keep spending campaign funds until August.

So now:

“I don’t cross picket lines. I never have,” Kerry said as he left Mass Sunday night at Our Lady of Good Voyage chapel in South Boston.

This is in Boston, site of the DNC convention, and the police union has promised to picket the convention, too. So Kerry has set himself up for a) not being able to attend the convention because of the picket line, or b) breaking the picket line which he just said he never does.

What is your prediction?

About Me

Michael, a sinner saved by grace, sharing what the good Lord has shared with me.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.
