Zipper Troubles

For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been startled to find my zipper is down at work. I’ll notice it 30 minutes after a visit to the restroom and wonder if anybody else noticed it.

This morning after arriving to work, I went to the cafeteria to get a quick breakfast. After finishing, I stood up… and noticed my zipper was down. I must have come into work that way.

I haven’t had this zipper problem before; 20+ years of working and nobody has ever had to point at my fly or say “XYZ” (examine your zipper). This just started two weeks ago.

I need something to blame it on; probably Alex going to college, I think. I have to write a more serious story now and bury this zipper post and hope nobody notices.

My zipper is up now, by the way. I’m obsessively checking now.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.
