Chasing the Wind

ugh. monday.

it’s monday. i know it’s tuesday, but it’s monday. i took the whole weekend including labor day off, and after all this overtime it felt glorious. i barely made it to work on time, and only by skipping patch’s walk. he’s going to leave me a present behind the sofa, i just know it.

i wore black today. black shoes, socks, pants, belt, shirt… i must be in mourning because it’s morning. i’m going to motivate myself in 3… 2… 1…

vroom. putt putt putt.

so far, it’s not working. i’m not either, come to think of it. i can’t even bring myself to use the shift key, it’s just one more button i have to push, and it’s waaay over there on that side of the keyboard.

ouch. those extra ‘aa’s in ‘waaay’ hurt. i should have stretched first.

an extra large cup of coffee today, followed by an injection of adrenaline ought to do it.

i have another large project due at the end of the day tomorrow. they normally give me 3 weeks to do this type of project. i got 4 working days.

more coffee. vroom.

    It wasn’t supposed to be depressing, it was supposed to be funny. I don’t do depressing. 😛

    I turned on the option to require a name, but that also means you have to supply an email address. If can be fake, I don’t check it. I couldn’t tell the Anonymous people apart from each other.

    I’ll turn it back off.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.
