Belief-O-Matic

I saw this at rachel’s a few weeks ago and just now got around to answering the quiz. All that overtime is making my todo list pileup. 😛

Warning: Belief-O-Maticâ„¢ assumes no legal liability for the ultimate fate of your soul.

Take a short quiz at the Belief-O-Matic, and it will rate your beliefs against all the world’s religions (or lack of religions) and tells you which religions most closely reflects your beliefs. Mine’s not a surprise to me:

  1. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (100%)
  2. Eastern Orthodox (91%)
  3. Roman Catholic (91%)
  4. Orthodox Judaism (89%)
  5. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (84%)

I have the least in common with Taoism and Secular Humanism.

What are your beliefs?

Once you’re done, you can check to see how unshakeable that faith is. On a scale of 25 to 100, I scored an 86, “Confident Believer – You have little doubt you’ve found the right path.” Once you get to 90, you’re a candidate for clergy, so I’m not surprised I fell short. 😛

    Gimme that ol’ time religion…

    Two observations. The scale is set up for Christians, probably Protestant, and the ranking runs from top to bottom. Nevertheless, I guess those RCIA classes rubbed off, as I am now ready to apply for Pope, or Patriarch. However, I probably need to change my last name to Murphiocrates for the latter. I wonder if the college of cardinals would accept these results?

    I wish that I could talk you into coming to those RCIA classes, they are eye-openers. My rankings……

    3. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (93%) etc…

    Try running the program without answering anything. – results are B’hai Faith…hmmm.

    LoL, Sean. I’ve heard B’hai Faith advertised on the local public radio station. They say they’re against all forms of superstition, whatever they mean by that. Now I know that perhaps it means they don’t believe in anything. 😛

    You’re not suprised you got a 100% Roman Catholic vs a 93% Conservative Christian and mine are almost the exact opposite? I wonder which question that was.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.
