Chasing the Wind

News. Faith. Nonsense.

Hayden Update

John has emailed Hayden’s status the last couple of day, and it hasn’t looked good. A brain scan on Tuesday showed almost no activity, and Tuesday night the doctors took Hayden off of life support. Doctors planned on keeping her as comfortable as they could and wait for the end.

John called just now, two days later, and Hayden is awake. Awake! She opened her eyes, moved her arms and legs, but more importantly she’s crying! I know crying babies are usually not a good thing, but in this case it’s a beautiful thing. John’s headed back to the hospital and I’ll pass along his report later when he calls.

Thanks to everybody for your continued prayers and support. This is nothing short of one of God’s miracles. 🙂

Update: Email from John:

Dear Family and Friends,

At about 5 PM, Nov. 4th. an inexplainable event occured.

Against all explanation and medical wisdom, Hayden awoke from her week long coma. As you well know from previous mailings, she was not expected to survive. All hope had been lost and we were waiting for God to take her into his arms. Apparently that wasn’t his plan at this time.

Her return goes beyond medical explanation and expectation. She seems to have full function as she is crying and moving in all normal capacities. The only thing unconfirmed is her vision.

I have no explanation except to say, your prayers worked. I will keep you all informed. I am now on the way to the hospital. I will update soon.

Thank you all for your generious support,

John

  5. God be praised. She is destined to touch many others and her work is not finished here. I also ask that her family be healed after this ordeal.

About Me

Michael, a sinner saved by grace, sharing what the good Lord has shared with me.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.

Got questions? I’m not surprised. If you have any questions about Chasing the Wind, you can email me at chasingthewind@outlook.com.
