A Large Mammal

Those that know me already know I’m a Large Mammal, though I’ve been losing weight. 10.5 lbs in the last month, in fact. I’m still a Large Mammal, though. Even when I’m back down to my fightin’ weight of 190 lbs, I’ll still be a large, muscle bound, hulking mammal. Rawr.

Now Chasing the Wind is a Large Mammal, too, according to the TTLB Ecosystem of rating blog traffic. Nearly 28,000 visitors since April! As of this morning there are 124 unique visitors every day and 118 other blogs with links back to Chasing the Wind. Out of the 17,787 blogs tracked by Truth Laid Bear, Chasing the Wind is ranked #806 this morning. I’m pretty happy with the “Large Mammal” ranking, and I don’t really expect to climb to the next rung of blog evolution to “Playful Primate.” I think blogs that rank that high are run by groups of people or somebody doing it full time, like Opinion Journal run by the Wall Street Journal. This website generated exactly $0.00 in income last year, and I expect next year I’ll double that, so I’d better hold onto my real job. 😛

Increased ranking and traffic isn’t something I do, it’s something you do. I enjoy writing something nearly every day, but it’s reading the comments y’all leave that I really enjoy. Thanks for visiting me every day, and special thanks for those of you brave enough to drop a comment or two. 🙂

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.
