When I got home tonight, Patch was in a frenzy of barking. Apparently Lilly, the black labrador in heat next door, was doing that sexy beckoning to him all day.
Janice, Lilly’s owner, knocked on my door when I got home tonight. At 10:30pm, it’s a little late so I was wary until I realized who it was. Around 9am this morning, Patch completed his escape tunnel into Janice’s backyard, and then Patch happily walked into Janice’s living room, his snout all covered with dirt.
“Hi!” says Patch. “Is Lilly around?”
Janice sent Patch home without, er, whatever Patch came over for, then covered up the hole on her side. Diane stopped by the townhome this afternoon and patched the hole on my side of the fence (though she didn’t know about Patch’s escape until just now).
And Janice says Lilly is no longer in heat, but I don’t think Patch believes her. He wants to check for himself. I think Patch is going to be seeing the vet soon for a necessaryectomy.
