Chasing the Wind

News. Faith. Nonsense.

Weekend Recap

Stock trading day is in jeopardy today – the mechanical investing group runs their forumulas off of the Value Line data base, and Value Line munged up the data on Friday, then went home for the weekend. I haven’t decided what I’ll do yet. Wait for new data? Wait another week? Trade using last week’s data? Dunno.

I have more pictures of the house deconstruction to post later today, courtesy of Diane the Shutterbug. It’s coming along nicely; today, bathroom tile and wood laminate for the stairs should be going in. The living room was painted a lovely shade of light green over the weekend. Or at least I’m told it’s a lovely shade of green, I wouldn’t know.

I had another big weekend; met with Pastor Biff for additional marriage prep, and he was very encouraging. Alex came into town and we saw Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy at the Alamo Theater which is always a treat. Tried on a potential suit for the wedding which apparently has been attacked by miniturization rays from outer space. I know that suit fit at one time, but now it’s too small. Bummer.

More posting later once I get caught up. 🙂

  1. I heard that moths go straight for the waist band of slacks/pants – it’s the tastiest part of the clothing. Otherwise those pants would have fit you perfectly. I hope they don’t find my new wedding dress before our big day, otherwise I’m in trouble.

About Me

Michael, a sinner saved by grace, sharing what the good Lord has shared with me.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.

Got questions? I’m not surprised. If you have any questions about Chasing the Wind, you can email me at chasingthewind@outlook.com.

    I.             Introduction An old friend once told me a story that every married man understands. His wife tried on a new dress and asked, “Does this dress make me look fat?” He answered with complete honesty. It was true – and it was also unwise. Later he said something I have never forgotten: truth and… Read more: Finding Wisdom
