War of the Worlds

First, the biggest drawback: it starred Tom Cruise. Several in our group boycotted the movie because of him. I don’t blame them.

But War of the Worlds also starred Dakota Fanning. I suspect she’s some sort of genetically modified kid. She acts waaay to good for someone her age.

War of the Worlds was intense; special effects were awesome. No nudity, little gratuitous cussing, a whole lot of destruction though. Spielberg should win an award for special effects over George Lucas’ Star Wars.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.
