Chasing the Wind

News. Faith. Nonsense.

Mechanical Investing for December 2005

Yeah, yeah, I know I said I’d be trading next Monday, not today. Next week though I’ll be busy in meetings through lunchtime and I won’t have access, so I moved it up a week. So solly cholly.

The Dow surged ahead this month and some problem stocks had the hiccups, so the Dow beat me this month for the first time in a long time. Grr. At least the turnover was small this month, only had to sell/buy 4 stocks.

  • Last 4 weeks: +2.8%
  • Last 3 months: +2.6%
  • Year to date: +0.3% (Dow is +1.2% ytd from 10,783.75)
  • Last 12 months:+0.6%

About Me

Michael, a sinner saved by grace, sharing what the good Lord has shared with me.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.

Got questions? I’m not surprised. If you have any questions about Chasing the Wind, you can email me at chasingthewind@outlook.com.
