Principle Engineer

My email signature at work has my name, followed by the words, “Principle Engineer.” It’s been that way for probably two years.

An Indian engineer pointed out that it should be Principal, not Principle. He also pointed out that English is his fourth language.

I looked up both definitions just to be sure.

principle 
–noun 1. an accepted or professed rule of action or conduct: a person of good moral principles.

vs

principal
–adjective 1. first or highest in rank, importance, value, etc.; chief; foremost.

The more I think about it, the more I like it the way it is. 🙂

    I think this guy has his ‘principles’ mixed up. 😛 I agree; yours sounds better, since you would be pushing for good morals!

    A principal engineer is the main engineer in charge of one area or discipline, a Chief Engineer is in charge of many or all.

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.
