Chasing the Wind

News. Faith. Nonsense.

Who am I?

I answer my phone at the office early this morning. “Good morning, this is Michael.”

The other voice says, “Bill?”

My actual response was, “No… this is Michael” and the caller apologized for the wrong number. The responses that went through my head, though, included, “Oh, yes, I’m sorry. This *is* Bill. Can I help you?”

What other responses can you come up with?

    My sister got tired of getting calls for “Rocky.” So one night, when yet another call came in, my bro-in-law answered and told the caller Rocky was in jail. Since then, Rocky has been many places . . . people keep calling for him so the stories continue. Cracks us all up.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.
