Chasing the Wind

News. Faith. Nonsense.

20th Blogiversary

Hard to believe Chasing the Wind is 20 years old today.

I started out just amusing myself with stories of fun. Then I branched out into politics and complaining about left-wing politics influencing the news to make them dishonest (it’s gotten oh so much worse, but I leave it to others to complain about).

I shared my faith some. Then the Lord brought my wife back to me in an unexpected miraculous way. It wasn’t the first time I’d seen God’s hand in my life, but this was an incredible conclusion of 10 years of God’s work in my life (no doubt He’s always been involved, but I was spiritually blind before that.) We’re coming up on 19 years of remarriage.

Then I started sharing what I had learned and began teaching. I think I’ve been teaching bible study now for 18 years. The Lord get all the glory and the credit, of course. The more I grow in faith, the more I realize just how far I’d fallen.

I’ve been blessed to be able to share this along the way, and for the 800’ish people that receive my occasional email and the other 800’ish (I dunno, maybe you’re the same 800 people), I thank you for stopping by to visit. Thanks for being my brothers and sisters in Christ and allowing me to share my journey.

To God be the glory, forever and ever, amen.

  1. Your Mom , I know, is so proud of your faith. The more we are given, the more is expected of us, and our whole family has been given a lot. Our trials are seemingly unbearable sometimes, but after He see us through them, we find we are stronger and wiser than before. It’s what we learn here that helps us to be more like our Savior that we take with us. He’s worth it. The scriptures tell us, the days of great missionary work is ahead of us as things get worse. Unfortunately , that seems to be the best way for people to get their priorities straight and turn to their creator. We are here for such a time as this to be the salt of the earth. I really like the thought of a pretrib rapture as so many believe in, but I think it’s a good idea to be prepared either way to follow Him. Keep it up! Love, Aunt Bobbie

About Me

Michael, a sinner saved by grace, sharing what the good Lord has shared with me.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.
