Chasing the Wind

News. Faith. Nonsense.

Coming Up Empty

Hmm. Nothing inspires me to blog today. I tossed some ideas at myself but nothing stuck.

North Korea says the have nukes and don’t want to talk about it. The U.S. says we ought to talk about it. No solutions look good at the moment. Let North Korea keep the nukes? Force them to disarm? Blah.

And at the same time, Prince Charles decides to marry Camilla Parker Bowles. Coincidence? I think not.

Wardhill Churchill sounds like a bigoted lunatic. I predict he’ll voluntarily step down to save face. If not, he should be fired. Free speech isn’t the issue, by the way.

Stock market is down. Weather is cold. Irv’s still in the hospital. I think I’ll need a new car by the summer of 2007. I’m going to buy some sort of mp3 player. This weekend has plays to see, dancing, Star Trek, birthday parties, Valentine’s dinner, …

Whoa. I have a lot to blog about. I wonder where I should start…

  1. I am so excited for you about your valentines dinner!! And thought you might want to talk to Miss Vox about the MP3 player she is finished with…perhpas if you don’t have 7000 songs on MP3 it will work for you. 😀

  2. You know what? I was at the point to where I felt that if I didn’t have anything ‘earth shattering’ to blog about then what’s the point in posting. The a couple of days a go it hit me that, to me anyway, the blog is meant to be just a place for my musings and thoughts, be they big OR small. If no one else gets any value, that’s no big loss — it’s all about the blog being an outlet for me.

So I can understand where you are coming from.

  3. You might wanna blog about why you are sending you little brother a shirt with a chimp on it. When the postman knocked on my door, nobody answered and I got upset and my stomach started to churn. I had to be rushed to the hospital. Emergency shirt-endectomy. Who’s gonna pay my medical bills?

😆 Thanks for the shirt. I laughed for an hour. Then my side hurt and I called 911….

  4. Onelamb – Thanks, our Valentines celebration is lasting 5 days this year. 🙂 I saw Miss Vox’s post about the mp3 player; I’m considering buying the iPod Shuffle though.

Tony – I realized as I was writing this post that I *do* have a lot to write about. I think it’s a matter of… motivation? Perception? I dunno. I took a day off of posting. Then I posted about not posting. 😛 I have stuff for today to post about.

Stephen – You mean the t-shirt with Chim-Chim on the front and the words, “My Monkey Wants Some Candy!!” I had nothing to do with it, except for the ordering part. Sue the UPS guy instead. 😛

About Me

Michael, a sinner saved by grace, sharing what the good Lord has shared with me.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.

Got questions? I’m not surprised. If you have any questions about Chasing the Wind, you can email me at chasingthewind@outlook.com.

      I.      Introduction – The Temple In our class last week, Tommy taught us that we should be prepared for the coming of the Lord.  Well, He’s here.  And here in Luke 2, we get our only inspired snapshot of Jesus between infancy and adulthood.  And we’ll see in just a few short verses something… Read more: The Temple

    I.             Introduction An old friend once told me a story that every married man understands. I.             Icebreaker — Stories of Reconciliation Before we turn to Nehemiah, let me connect us to where we’ve been the past couple of weeks. Two weeks ago, Tommy used home renovation shows—things like Property Brothers—to help us think about rebuilding. That fit Nehemiah well, because Nehemiah quite literally asks the king for permission to rebuild… Read more: Confession, Reconciliation, Celebration
