Chasing the Wind

News. Faith. Nonsense.

Welcome to my world

As Mike put it, we live deep in the wood. We like it that way. There are no neighbors that we can see. We built our house on a hilltop overlooking a now closed dairy farm. We live the quite, down to earth life and not that we have any qualms with the big city, it just ain’t our cup of tea.

I will try my best to acclimate y’all to this part of Texas. Here is a basic item to survive out here.
Pickle Bucket
You might call this a pickle bucket. We call it portable lawn furniture if you turn it over. Also used to pick up beer bottles at the end of the day.

I think I will be hanging around Chasing the Wind for a few days. You can consider this a hostile takeover. 😉

  1. Never heard of a pickle bucket. Looks more like the bucket in the garage with all the car cleaning stuff that never sees the light of day. Dirt protects the paint from fading, right?

  2. I was so afraid you were going to tell us it was a portable toilet….. 😯 Glad it’s just lawn furniture 😀

  3. I remember in high school, the marching band uniform included those tall fuzzy green hats, and we carried them to away games in recycled pickle buckets (collected from the concession stand). The whole band smelled (and looked) like moldy pickles.

About Me

Michael, a sinner saved by grace, sharing what the good Lord has shared with me.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.

Got questions? I’m not surprised. If you have any questions about Chasing the Wind, you can email me at chasingthewind@outlook.com.
