Upon These Rockies I Will Build My Church

Posted on May 31, 2006. Filed under: Faith, News | Tags: , , , , , , , |

Spotlight today on the Colorado Rockies, and a thanks to USA Today for portraying Christianity in sports in a positive light. DENVER — No copies of Playboy or Penthouse are in the clubhouse of baseball’s Colorado Rockies. There’s not even a Maxim. The only reading materials are daily newspapers, sports and car magazines and the [...]

Review: Help! Mom! Hollywood's in My Hamper!

Posted on May 29, 2006. Filed under: Christian Book Reviews, General | Tags: |

Written by Katharine DeBrecht, the same woman who did Help! Mom! There Are Liberals Under My Bed!, this book takes a kid-friendly crack at Hollywood’s influence on our children. Hollywood “look-alikes” (ahem) keep popping out of the closet and advising children that their lives are wrong! The Hollywood elites tell the girls what to eat, [...]

Posted on May 26, 2006. Filed under: Faith | Tags: , , , , , |

Government Fails to Stop Prayer

Posted on May 24, 2006. Filed under: Faith, General, Politics | Tags: , , , , , , , |

I chuckled at thsi story. Isn’t it prohibited for the US Government to prohibit freedom of religion? They succeed often, but not this time. The graduating students stood up and prayed The Lord’s Prayer and the crowd gave them a standing ovation. Earlier in the day, a federal judge had banned prayers from the ceremony [...]

Heh. A baseball club is saluting frivolous lawsuits with a special event: ALTOONA- Inspired by a Los Angeles Angels fan who filed a lawsuit against the club because he did not receive a red nylon tote bag as part of the major league club’s Mother’s Day promotion last May, the Altoona Curve have announced that [...]

If I Had a Nickel for Every Time…

Posted on May 22, 2006. Filed under: Faith, Politics | Tags: , |

Do you think the words, “In God We Trust” will be eliminated from US Currency in our lifetime? In Dallas, they’re already done it. The cover of the Keller ISD school’s annual depicts the 2005 Liberty Nickel – complete with the face of Thomas Jefferson – but the words “In God We Trust” are missing. [...]
