I didn’t buy it, and neither did Wizbang. In particular, the “superscript” function of that typewriter would let you raise the ‘th’ up a 1/2 step, but it wouldn’t change the font size. CBS must think we’re all stupid.
Then Rather identified the “expert,” Marcel Manley. A google search will show he claims to be a handwriting expert. (Other experts that denounce the memos as forgeries are experts in typography, fonts, etc.) Manley says the signature on the memos match (even though Col. Killian’s son says they don’t). Even if the signatures *did* match, you could accomplish that with a simple scan and paste into Word. But a quick glance at real vs. fake signatures show they don’t match.
But here’s the odd part. Marcel Manley has two claims to fame. He claimed Kurt Cobain’s suicide note was bogus and was really murdered… and he verified Vince Foster’s signature on his suicide note in 1996 when other handwriting experts said his signature was a fake.
Just when we thought *that* story was dead…
