I think the media really, really wants Ivan to hit Florida. They really want a three-peat. When the hurricane tracking maps first came out, all of them showed Ivan slamming into the heart of Florida. This was the map a few days ago – “Yay! It’s going to hit Florida!†the news people seem to be saying.
As the days go by, all the maps have been adjusted showing Ivan doing this hard right turn just to hit Florida. It’s like the news is desperate – “Please oh please let it hit Florida we need the ratings!â€
It doesn’t at all that way to me. It looks like Ivan is making a beeline for Louisiana. Look at this latest map – the guy with the yellow line is determined to show Ivan hitting the panhandle, no matter how much of a right turn Ivan has to make:

Looks like the computer models were fairly accurate this time.

And another is on its way. This has been a crazy year. And a terrible one for Florida.

This post made me laugh.
Have you heard about the (booming voice)cone of uncertainty(/booming voice)??? John and I had a good laugh over that meteorological term the other day. Sounds like a good idea for a hat.
