If for no other reason, you ought to vote for George Bush because the Democrats have shown themselves to be completely inept.
According to the Drudge Report, John Kerry has launched a new campaign today, claiming Bush lied. The latest claim is that campaign literature from 1978 says George Bush claimed to have been in the Air Force, but he was only in the Air National Guard.
“Flyers distributed to Texas voters during Bush’s failed Congressional race say ‘he served in the U.S. Air Force and the Texas Air National Guard.’ But according to Air Force officials, Air National Guardsmen are not counted as members of the active-duty Air Force.”
My first reaction was, “Is this the best they can do?” Either way, Bush served his country. At best, it’s 26 year old news. Not exactly earth shattering news either way.
Democrats need to pull those ads before they’re shown – the Air Force immediately shot the story down, saying that he did indeed serve in May of 1968.
Drudge again has the scoop with documentation to prove it.
I can’t help but notice the type is *not* proportional Times New Roman font.

The wheels are coming off –
Drudge also has William Safire’s “Those Discredited Memos” – a very succint review of the hijinx at CBS – we knew it all along. Rather is mushy three day old toast.

Drudge is ahead of the curve, as usual. Here comes the mainstream press with the news that the Democrats are going to attack Bush’s Air National Guard service.
Trouble is, the memos are bunk, and the Air Force says Bush served.
