I was fortunate enough over the weekend to hear Harbor Lights sing. Harbor Lights is a ministry of the Salvation Army, composed entirely of men who have successfully battled substance abuse and are actively working to return to being a productive member of society.
Man, the singing was fantastic. They sang a combination of old and new Christian spiritual songs, in beautiful a capella. If you ever get a chance to hear them, take it. 🙂
The Salvation Army says they are “Committed to Doing the Most Good with your contributions of money, time, and resources.” They are a faith-based organization that provides homeless shelters, disaster relief, and substance abuse programs, all with a minimal of overhead and all under an umbrella of Christian love.
