Ouch.
I learned new stuff recently that I didn’t even know I didn’t know. I had a sebaceous cyst removed from my back this afternoon in a simple outpatient operation.
The cyst was just below the skin, happily just being like a little soft pea-sized thingy until about 2 months ago when it decided to pretend it was a miniature volcano. All sorts of icky, smelly stuff came out of it and I went pronto to the doctor. What the heck is this?
It had become inflamed, so Doc treated it with antibiotics to get the swelling down enough to operate. Today, Doc removed a chunk of flesh about 1-1/2″ long, 1/4″ wide, 1/2″ deep, then sewed it up so I have this kewl Frankenstein-like scar. When the Novocaine wears off, he tells me, it’s gonna hurt. No exercise for a month, he sid, but we’re negotiating.
I bought some Excedrin ust in case and now I’m just waiting fo this incredibly huge papercut to start hurting. Should be just about… now.
