For some reason, Jo’s recollection of Lost Lions is different than mine – she launches into a discussion of high-tech ammunitions, chemical peels, masks, arsenals of special soaps… I thought she was recovering from a terrorist attack. Really, Jo, it wasn’t *that* bad. 🙂
And hey, before I forget, tomorrow’s Jo’s birthday. Go make her day, tell her happy birthday and she’s looking great for her 33 years. Go now; I’ll wait until you get back.
Lost Lions? Oh, I winged that name a year ago after Lori emailed me. I hadn’t heard from her in over 20 years, and she wanted to get together. I invited Jo and Sean, also graduates from Spring High. Our mascot was the Lions, and well, I needed a catchy name for the email. I should have thought harder for something catchy, like… um… well, ok, I’ll stay with Lost Lions.
The funny thing about our group is how politically diverse we’ve become – we blanket the spectrum. I think Sean’s further to the right than I am, and Lori is so far left she’s sinister. (That was a pun, but I’m not going to bother explaining it to you non-Latin-speaking types). Lori found out last night that I had a blog and asked for the URL, and the rest of us decided that wasn’t such a good idea. Lori said, “I know we’re on opposite sides of the fence…” and Jo interrupted with, “The two of you aren’t even in the same pasture.” Mooo.
We went to the Flying Saucer Draught Emporium downstown; I wanted to check it out because there’s a periodic gathering of Houston bloggers there, and the next one is this weekend. Good beer, good food. And, ahem, the waitress was nice, too; her name was Bunny or Brittany or something. I can’t remember. I don’t know if I’ll go; I don’t own a tiara.
I rode in with Sean who bailed early, but Lori offered to drive me back. Woohoo! I’m not driving! I was so excited I had *3* beers in one night! I’m such a party animal, I think I stayed out to 10pm.
I had a good time; we’ll get together again in a couple of months. And Lori, should you ever stumble across my website, I want you to know: the grass is greener on *my* side.
