Yes, I know, this post does two things. One, it dates me. Yes, I called them albums, not CDs. Two, I forget. Probably related to how old I am.
If you’re 40’ish, you might remember listening to albums like I did. I’d sop by the music store and pick up an album I wanted, carry it home carefully on my bike, take off the cellophane from the cardboard square, and marvel at the shiny black vinyl with the unscratched grooves.
Although I listen to these artists rarely anymore, they were my favorite back then. Not only did I know all the lyrics, but I could also hum all the instrumentals.
Billy Joel’s “The Stranger” was the best album he had. The older he got, the harder he got. I liked his early stuff best.
Supertramp’s “Breakfast in America” has some wonderful rhyming lyrics.
What were some of your favorite albums?
