Chasing the Wind

News. Faith. Nonsense.

A Passion for Movies

I went to Amazon to look for a DVD. I heard of “The Gospel of John” that came out around the time of “The Passion of Christ” and wanted to see if it was available. So I went to Amazon and searched for “Passion of Christ” to see if “Gospel of John” popped up as a related item since I wasn’t 100% sure of the title.

Here are the related searches Amazon recommends:

  • The Passion of the Christ (Widescreen Edition) DVD
  • The Passion of the Christ (Full Screen Edition) DVD
  • The Passion of the Christ VHS
  • The Passion of the Christ (Score) [SOUNDTRACK]

So far, so good, all related to my search. Then:

  • The Purpose-Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here For? by Rick Warren (Hardcover)

Actually, I’m studying this now, it’s a 40 day study and I’m on Day 4. Next:

  • The Passion of the Christ: Songs Inspired By [SOUNDTRACK] ~ Various Artists – Soundtracks – 2004 (Audio CD)
  • Kill Bill, Volume 2 DVD
  • The Passion: Photography from the Movie “The Passion of the Christ” by Mel Gibson (Foreword), Ken Duncan (Hardcover)
  • A Guide to the Passion: 100 Questions About The Passion of The Christ by Tom Allen, et al (Paperback – February 2004)
  • Passion of the Christ: Songs (Original Songs Inspired by the Film) ~ Various Artists – Soundtracks – 2004 (Audio CD)
  • Soul Plane (Unrated Mile High Edition) DVD
  • Secret Window DVD
  • Runaway Jury (Widescreen Edition) DVD
  • The Ladykillers (Widescreen Edition) DVD
  • Taking Lives – Director’s Cut (Widescreen Edition) DVD
  • The Passion of the Christ (Style A), Mini Poster, 11×17

See anything on this list that’s not like the others? 😛

One response to “A Passion for Movies”

  1. Several sound pretty scary. Kill Bill (doesn’t sound very Christian), the Lady Killers (might be the same people who Killed Bill); Taking Lives (would that be Christians being Martyred???), and Soul Plane sounds like a cult thing. I don’t think Runaway Jury sound like a related item either.
I have seen “The Gospel of John” movie while it was at theaters, it was a number of months prior to “The Passion” movie. I thought it was excellent. Of course John was always my favorite book of the Bible. Have you seen the Christian movie “Luther”? Also very enjoyable.

About Me

Michael, a sinner saved by grace, sharing what the good Lord has shared with me.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.

Got questions? I’m not surprised. If you have any questions about Chasing the Wind, you can email me at chasingthewind@outlook.com.
