Remodeling, Day 8

The remodeling is coming along nicely. I’m about halfway through; by the weekend, I’m hoping to move some of the furniture back into the living room. Even though I rarely watch tv, I miss those 15 minutes of sitting down to the news occasionally.

I’m going to put the pictures below the break to save on bandwidth:

Let’s start in the kitchen, where the old sliding glass door was removed and replaced with shiny sparkling french doors. Here’s the before shot:
Morning Love, Here is the before shot, for comparison purposes. I like the french doors much better, as you can clearly see in the picture, the sliding door only came with a puppy, but the french door comes with a hunk of a guy (my kinda guy).
And here’s the new door. I’m not sure if Diane was taking a picture of the door or me as I seem to be in the way. 😛
And would you look at the construction crew, this one\'s a real hunk!

There’s still some trim work to be done there, but the major part is done.

For the living room, I posted the demolition-in-progress pics last week. Yesterday, they finished preparing the concrete in the living room, and by tonight, new cherry wood flooring should be in place. Before/after pics to follow.

You’ve also seen the bathroom before pics; the new tiling is almost complete and should be finished up today. Here’s the hole left when they demolished the old tub:
Yes, I have indoor plumbing. Why?
And here’s the new tub in progress:
There is a hole in my bathroom, dear Liza, dear Liza.

No real work has been started in the study; it’s mostly a storage room right now. The foyer is nearly complete; here’s a before pic during the demolition:
Jen-wine concrete floors, by golly!
And after, all the pretty new slate with decorative black diamond granite:

More pics later, I hope. 🙂
