Just for the record, I voted against the light rail, the toy train. Not because I’m against light rail, but because this goofy little train doesn’t go anywhere.
Then Metro made a goofy choice – they cancelled bus routes, trying to force people onto train routes instead. How did the people respond? By not riding, of course.
Ridership is down. Revenue is way down. Metro wants to spend another $275,000 on a study to try to figure out why people won’t get on the toy train, and another $58 million for some new toy trains.
It’s like they’re not spending their own money. In fact, it’s just like they’re spending my money.
