NEW YORK – A sequel to the megahit family fantasy “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” is slated to hit theaters in late 2007.

“The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” will be based on the third installment of C.S. Lewis’ seven-book “Narnia” series, Disney spokesman Ash Curtis said Friday.

In the story, the Pevensie siblings — Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy — return to Narnia to help Prince Caspian restore peace after the country becomes gripped by civil war.

The movie will reunite director Andrew Adamson and most of the principal cast, including William Moseley (Peter), Anna Popplewell (Susan), Georgie Henley (Lucy) and Skandar Keynes (Edmund), Curtis said.

“Narnia” has earned an estimated $637.8 million worldwide.

  1. Part 3??? Taken in the order the books were written, I’d say we’re right on track. 😉

  2. Huh… I knew the “Lion” movie wasn’t the first book but I didn’t know they were written out of order, too.

  3. The seventh book was written as a “prequel” to the other six. While some people list it as the first book and recommend reading it before the others, I found it much more interesting to read after you already know the rest of the story.

  4. Prince Caspian is Book 2, NOT 3, in the 7 book series– assuming one is looking at the order in which they were written. Chronological order– in terms of story line — puts Prince Caspian in 4th position; Thusly….

    The Magician’s Nephew
The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe
    The Horse and His Boy
    Prince Caspian
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
    The Silver Chair
    The Last Battle

I read this very same article and was appalled that a “professional” writer couldn’t get the details of his story straight. Mistakes like this irk me to no end… Probably because I see these same kind of mistakes every day where I work.

  5. I read “The Magician’s Nephew” yesterday for the first time, and the copyright dates for all 7 books seems to indicated that Lewis wrote them almost in a random order.

  6. Hey! Just incase you didnt know Prince Caspian got bumped from winter 2007 to summer 2008 to avoid competition with another fantasy movie called “the water horse” or something. so you might want to update.

About Me

Michael, a sinner saved by grace, sharing what the good Lord has shared with me.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.
