Chasing the Wind

News. Faith. Nonsense.

Viewers Switch Off CBS

Thanks to Dan Rather’s determination to trash the President and sacrifice facts along the way, their market share has all but disappeared.

According to Drudge and Nielsen ratings, CBS trails ABC now by as much as 6 to 1. In the New York area, Dan Rather finished dead last behind reruns of the Simpsons, Will & Grace, and King of Queens.

“The audience appears to [be] polarized,” a top CBS source said from Los Angeles on Thursday. “Rightly or wrongly, we’re being perceived as ‘anti-Bush,’ which I do not think is fair to Dan, who is a fine journalist.

Geez, do ya think? “Fine journalist” Dan Rather floats bogus memos that say Bush shirked his National Guard duty while all other documents say he received an honorable discharge, then defends the fake memos to the bitter end, and CBS wonders why they’re getting an “Anti-Bush” reputation?

I’m guessing Dan Rather retires early and suddenly.

  1. Hey- King of Queens is a good show. I’m telling ya, Dan’s not taking the fall on this one.

  2. What do the other stations have to say about all of this? Besides FOX, I already heard enough from them.

  3. ABC has been all over CBS’s case, too.

    Dan Rather is history.

  4. I don’t think his retirement will be sudden – – CBS will somehow try to get out of this one. At this point they cannot just toss him to the dogs with how they’ve backed him up – – well that is unless they pull the old Kerry flip flop

  5. You think? I’m not sure which is the dog and which is the tail over there. I thought Rather might be insisting CBS back him up. Maybe they don’t want to dismiss him suddenly because Rather might write a book. 😛

  6. With what has happened recently it seems CBS is trying to say they were duped – – I think they have forgotten they are a news network and are supposed to investigate leads and not just use documents to break a story they think will shoot them up in the ratings – – so they say they were duped and not Burkett is saying he was a patsy and is blaming Lucy Ramirez who know seems to know anything about – – yet. I wonder who she will blame

  7. It’s looking now like CBS coordinated some of the information with the Kerry campaign. I think CBS should be forced to file as a 527.

About Me

Michael, a sinner saved by grace, sharing what the good Lord has shared with me.

Solomon, in the book of Ecclesiastes, said, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

If you’re not living for the glory of God, then what you’re doing is meaningless, no matter what it is. Living for God gives life meaning, and enjoying a “chasing after the wind” is a gift from God. I’m doing what I can to enjoy this gift daily.
